Barnsley: Developing collaborative leadership within an 11-19 framework (Case study) This case study explores how collaboration to deliver a wider 14-19 curriculum was built through three geographically-based Barnsley learning alliances. There is a central 11-19 executive, a Diploma steering group, expert groups set up for each Diploma line of learning and 'task and complete' sub groups which include information, advice and guidance (IAG) and curriculum timetabling. City of Nottingham: Building on a pre-Diploma pilot to develop collaborative leadership (Case study) Collaborative leadership is being built through a structure comprising of a 14-19 strategic partnership group, a 14-19 operations group, a Diploma delivery partnership management group and its Diploma delivery partnerships (DDPs). Each DDP has appointed a Diploma partnership co-ordinator who together form a team led by the City of Nottingham 14-19 Work Related Learning Executive Officer. A key element of the City’s 14-19 strategy was a pre-Diploma pilot, the Vocational Implementation Project. The case study illustrates how this project mobilised stakeholder interest and engagement. East Sussex: cross local area partnership board (LAPB) collaboration to implement Diploma provision (Case study) This case study explores how three local area partnership boards in East Sussex in collaboration with Sussex Downs College and local employers worked together to plan and introduce the Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment from September 2008. Diploma developments drew upon agreements that East Sussex had already in place to deliver the Increased Flexibility and Young Apprenticeship programmes.
