Leadership and Management Development Programme

East Midlands 14-19 conference, Nottingham, 4 February 2010

Nottinghamshire and the City of Nottingham local authorities and partners invite consortia in the East Midlands and beyond to participate in this wide-ranging conference at the East Midlands Conference Centre, University Park, Nottingham.

The aims are to share and debate both strategy and practice.

Keynote speakers will include:

  • Anthony May, Director of Children and Young People’s Services in Nottinghamshire
  • Mick Waters, Independent Consultant and President of the Curriculum Foundation
  • Steve Besley, Head of Policy Development at Edexcel.

Workshops will include sessions on:

  • delivering functional skills
  • work experience
  • Foundation Learning in further education
  • information, advice and guidance
  • achieving the entitlement
  • funding and commissioning
  • learner voice
  • post-16 inspection.

Malcolm Ferguson, Consortium Adviser in the East Midlands, will be delivering the workshop:

Learner Voice – Consulting and listening, engaging and involving
Best practice in the consultation and involvement of learners in a collaborative partnership.
