Lead and Domain assessor roles

Hi All

As part of the implementation planning for 2010 delivery of Diplomas, one of my consortia has asked me what the role of Domain or Lead assessor requires - in real terms.

Is there a common allocation of time, funding or other recompense? If so how is this agreed?

I have developed 'job descriptions' with the consortia for these roles, but the coordinator and others are not clear on how much time the role will actually entail for each line and the consortium as a whole. I have suggested the 'size' of the role will depend on the number of partners involved in delivery as well as the total cohort and other factors, but as they are not yet delivering, they have some time to tighten up their planning.

Any models or other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

In the first year the domain assessor was able to visit each institution seperately, but in the second year we have two many institutions to visit. The lead assessor is a big role and I would suggest you are looking at a full time role .

So whatever time you start with you need to double in year two.

Hi Dave - this is something I need to discuss with one of my consortia - a copy of the job description would be really useful if you could!

Hi

We are also at the point of developing the lead and domain assessor roles and trying to work out who and what needs to be done.

We are aware of many of our local authorities either employing someone parttime to take on the lead assessor and some consortium coordinators taken on the role.

Would be interested to share the jd of both roles as we have just started that process
